The opportunity is acknowledged by various Investors and has seen FDI worth US $3.24 billion in the first half of 2020. The number of colleges in India is around 40k with a number of universities around 1k. As per Indian culture, Education is always seen important and critical part of upbringing. Indian Government is not staying behind with its initiatives and policies. The government is doing all efforts to boost the digital education of e-learning and m-learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some of the Government\nInitiatives are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"http:\/\/evidyavahini.nic.in\/edu\/school\/home.php\">M eVIDYA<\/a> <\/li><li>Pradhan Mantri Gramin Digital Saksharta Abhiyan (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pmgdisha.in\">PMGDISHA<\/a>) <\/li><li>Skills Acquisition and Knowledge      Awareness for Livelihood Promotion (SANKALP)<\/li><li>Skill Strengthening for Industrial Value Enhancement (<a href=\"https:\/\/dgt.gov.in\/Strive\">STRIVE<\/a>) <\/li><li>Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mygov.in\/campaigns\/ebsb\/)\">EBSB<\/a>) campaign <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the Private Sector,\nwe have seen investment, some of the key players are \u2013<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/harappa.education\/\">Harappa Education<\/a> \u2013 Public Speaking Courses<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/unacademy.com\/\">Unacademy<\/a> \u2013 Largest Learning Platform<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.univariety.com\/\">Univariety<\/a> \u2013 Career guidance and      alumni system<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.classcentral.com\/\">Class Central <\/a>&#8211; Search Engine for Free Online Classes<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/classplusapp.com\/\">Classplus<\/a>  \u2013 dedicated for coaching institute<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.toppr.com\/\">Toppr<\/a> &#8211; Better learning for better result \u2013 K12 Focused<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/byjus.com\/\">Byjus<\/a> &#8211; Class 4-12 Online Tuition<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vedantu.com\/)\">Vedantu<\/a> &#8211; Interactive Online tutoring platform<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.khanacademy.org\/\">Khan Academy<\/a> &#8211; Free Online Courses<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When we spoke with various\nEducation Institutes recently, we found \u2013<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Most of the Institutes, Colleges have adopted Online Classes<\/li><li>They are using Google Meet, Zoom or Microsoft Teams for online classes<\/li><li>Initial adoption and learning was challenging but now the tools and its usage is comfortable with all      Teachers as well as students<\/li><li>60% of students are at remote places where they are facing the challenge of the Internet network, bandwidth<\/li><li>Many teachers and students still don\u2019t have a dedicated and isolated space for Online Classes and face noise disturbance<\/li><li>Many colleges and institutes are still worried about information security challenges<\/li><li>There is high pressure on syllabus completion<\/li><li>Lack of time, technical challenges cause less focus and time on Interaction<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Many Institutes want to extend online classes to a blended model where students can do offline activities, assignments, and learning. The online classes can be focused on Interactions, Q&amp;A sessions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Making the education available at less cost will ensure education for all. What an Institute\nshould look for while building OTT Solution for its college or Institute:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Scalable and Secure Infrastructure<\/li><li>Cloud-hosted and CDN<\/li><li>Easy to use and manage<\/li><li>Simple and User friendly<\/li><li>Cost-effective technology<\/li><li>Mobile App \u2013 Android (which is the most used phones in India)<\/li><li>User Identity &amp; Access Management<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">College and Institutes\ncan work on various models with students to make it available on-demand:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Free<\/li><li>Hybrid \u2013 some free and some paid<\/li><li>Transactional \u2013 paid and time-bound<\/li><li>DTR \u2013 Download to rent (time-bound)<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Being this private OTT\nplatform there are many advantages as compared to free but\nadvertisement-supported platforms like YouTube<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Privacy of content<\/li><li>Restricted access<\/li><li>No distraction due to advertisement<\/li><li>User to have all control to view and create his\/her own watch list<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Spagyrist Mentors is a research-based management consulting company.
